Whispers of the Midnight Wind

The midnight wind hums a lonesome tune,
A silver thread beneath the moon.
It dances through the weeping trees,
And carries secrets on the breeze.

Oh, restless ghost of twilight’s sigh,
Do you hear the stars reply?
They blink in Morse—a coded plea,
A message lost in time’s dark sea.

I stood there once, where shadows blend,
With outstretched hands, I called the wind.
It kissed my cheeks with frosty breath,
And whispered of life, and love, and death.

“What do you seek?” the night replied,
“A love once true, now lost inside?”
I closed my eyes—let tears descend,
For even the wind could not amend.

So listen close when darkness falls,
When silence grips the ancient walls.
The wind still sings its mournful hymn—
A poet’s heart, a requiem.
